Me is called a cool bronze because I is awesome, also thay say it because my furs is between da bronze and silvers (Mommy say it is champaign color). I has neato black spots an stripes likes a wild kitty but me all domestics. (Maus is one ofs the oldest breeds)Me lived in two different catteries in California before flyin to my home in Texas. My first home was not so goods. Me was scairts and lefts all alone cus I not quite a shows cat but thay tinks I bee a good mommy cat for shows cats. Den a nice lady wif a lot a show kittys saw me an rescue me from dar but me was already all hidey an scairt of every beans. Me LUV kitties though and she had lots cus she had a cattery too. She started work wif me not be all scairt and found me a mancat friend and I had ickle baby kitties. They were cuties but not show kitties, just lovely pets. Da nice lady decided not to have me be a mommy kitty any more and dat I would be bettor in a small quite family with at least one other kitty I could be friends with. She looked and she and mommy found each other!
So me flew to Texas. Me was so scairt at first I hides under a chair for days and me was sad cus I missed my kitty friends and the new kitty hissy at me. THE ELITE EIGHT - Clarissa's House of Cats
Clarissa: I'm an 8-
year-old calico and the oldest of the brood of 13. I was adopted from the Kentucky Humane Society when I was about 8 weeks old. I love to snuggle in mom's lap or her bed. I love people and get along okay with most of my brofurs and sisfurs. I don't like any type of treats and I HATE catnip. I try to bury the nip whenever mom puts some out for the other furs.
Sable the Punk:
I'm a 7-year-old domestic medium-haired Mancat. Don't tell anyone but I'm really a mama's boy! I love my meowmie. She brought me home when I was 8 weeks old. I was a "free kitten" and the only one left from my litter. Mom fell in love me with me as soon as she saw me. I love to drink skim milk out of mom's glass, nap in her bed, and sometimes snuggle with Clarissa (if she'll let me). I'm a great mouser if given the chance (I caught four of them when they got in our kitchen!).
Jazzpurr: I'm a 7-
year-old DSH (domestic short-hair) tortie. I'm a little on the shy side and always have been. I don't like to be picked up much, but if I want your attention I'll pat your leg. I like to sleep at the foot of mom's bed or on one of the cat trees. My nickname is "Little Brown Jug" because I'm short and on the plump side. Mom adopted me and my foster sisfur Serendipity together in 2004.
Serendipity: I'm a 5-year-old DSH dilute calico. I'm very talkative, too! I keep to myself most of the time, although I get along with my brofurs and sisfurs. You can usually find me napping on my uncle's bed (my mom and her brother share a house). I have my own water dish and litter box in that room, but I'll eat in the kitchen with the other kitties.
One-Eyed Fiona: I'm a 4 or 5-year-old calico and I have defined tabby stripes in my patches. Mom adopted me from a shelter in Bowling Green, KY after seeing me on Petfinders. I had lost my left eye to a bad infection which why mom named me after a song by Lyle Lovett. I moved into my forever home in February 2005. I tolerate my siblings as long as they don't get too close to me. It took a couple of years before I became a real snug-bug. I love to sleep in mom's lap or right next to her in bed. I've tried to sleep on top of her head a couple of times but she always makes me move. I'm the smallest of the brood at 8 lbs., and I am the feistiest!
Daisy: I'm a 4-
year-old tortie girl and the fussiest cat in the house! I don't want to share my mom with anyone else! I love people, but I could really do without the other cats. Mom's best friend found me living outside in the garden of an historic home in Louisville. When she found out that I didn't belong to anyone there, the friend asked mom if she would take me in. I was in my forever home for about five days when a huge place on my thigh abcessed and opened up! Something had put the bitey on me when I was still outside. Mom and the vettie took care of me and I've been healthy since then. I moved into my home in June 2005, about 2 weeks after my angel brother, Colin, had moved in. (Colin was a stray mom took in. He had lymphoma, which mom didn't know, and he crossed the bridge about a month after he had moved in). My full name is Princess Daisy Thistlechaser of Yew Dell.
Bandit: I'm a white
and orange tabby boy and I'll be 3-years-old this spring. My uncle saw me at an adoption fair. Like Fiona, I'm missing my left eye. I'm still a big kitten and I love to roll around on the floor and chase and play with my brofur, Memphis, and my sisfur, Jazzpurr. I have a really loud purr but a little baby meowmie. Mom says I'm just silly and love me for it!
Memphis: I'm a 3
-year-old seal point Siamese/Manx miss (or so mom thinks). I was born without a tail! I don't even have a little stubby one! Mom saw me on Petfinders and I was at the city animal shelter. She said my blue eyes melted her heart and she almost changed my name to Sinatra. I love my forever home and my mom, but I really bonded with my uncle. I usually sleep in his bed and hang out close to him when he's home. If he's not home then I'll sleep on one of the cat trees or in Mom's bed. Once in awhile I'll serenade the household in the middle of the night, but for the most part I'm pretty quiet.
THE FANTASTIC FIVE - Clarissa's House of Cats
Batman
: I'm a medium-haired black kitty and I love to be close to Mom. I'll be 6-years-old this year. I spent the first five years of my live living in northern Ohio with my brofurs and sisfurs. Our Ohio mom was moving and not taking us with her! Our new Mom found out about us from a friend of hers. She drove all the way to Ohio to get all five of us. I like vanilla ice cream, turkey, or whatever else is on your plate! I'm not a picky eater, but mom tries to make sure I only eat my dry kibble.
Puff: I'll be 5-years-o
ld this year. I'm the only long haired kitty in the clowder. My says I have the softest furs she's petted. I love to have my ears scratched and I'll purr really loud. Sometimes I'll even drool a little. My nick name is Capt. Puff Puffypants!
Ginger, Spunky, an
d Pandora (Panda): We are littermates and will be 5-years-old this year. Ginger loves Spunky and Panda and will groom them. Panda loves Ginger, but not Spunky. Actually, Panda doesn't really like anyone except Ginger and her Mom and uncle. She growls at all of the other cats. Spunky is a big mush and loves attention. Ginger is a little shy and is slowly coming around. None of us like to be picked up and Mom has the scars to prove it!
Batman, Puff, Ginger, Spunky, and Panda all moved to Kentucky from Ohio. They have been together since they were all kittens.

TAZO - The Furry Kids
My birthday is 7/31/05. I'm white with gray and dark gray stripey splotches, and have a little bit of tan thrown in under my chin and on on my back legs. I love to play with my toys (like jingle balls and fishing pole toys), but EG usually hogs them. My very favorite toy is wadded up paper - I love to play fetch with my Mom. Oh, and Thundering Herd of Elephants is super fun, too.
I love to eat and I'll steal any food that's not nailed down. Momma has to sit with EG and me while we eat our meals, because I'll gobble mine all up and then start on EG's.Momma says I have a giant motor and will purr and purr and purr real loud. I'm very cuddly and love to snuggle with my mom, dad, and brothers. My dawg brother, Titus, is just about my favorite - I always rub on him and purr and give him tons of headbutts. I almost never put the bitey on anyone (well, except EG), but I can growl with the best of 'em if EG's picking on me or Momma's trying to take back some food I stole. hee hee
I'm kinda skittish and I don't like loud noises or fast movements or strange people in my house. Any of those things will make me head under the bed to hide. For hours. Even long after the askeery person/noise is gone.

LADY CHANCY - Ernie's Voice
Hi my name is "Lady Chancy" but you can call me Chancy. I live in N.E. Indiana with my Mom & Dad and big brother. We used to live with Ernie too, but he went to The Bridge back in August. I sure miss him...he was bossy, but I liked him anyway. Ernie helps me and Mom with our blog "Ernie's Voice". He is always here in spirit...and he is very smart. Maybe he's my spirit guide.
I also love my big brother, he is away at school sometimes and I really miss him when he is not here. He is special to me, like my Dad. When my big brother is home from school, I love to listen to him practice his guitar. I lay in the guitar case listening to the music.
I like to coax my Mom to play with me, almost every night before going to bed. I have my ways of telling her what I want. I love to lay close to the patio doors and watch the birds, squirrels, rabbits and chipmunks. I have several lounging places in the house, where I can kick back and just take it easy.
Life is good!

MIZ ALLIE - Miz Allie Cat
Hello my name is Miz Allie Cat and I am an adorable calico cat with very long legs and an even longer tail. I love to sit on mommy's lap and get petted, and I ignore my daddy! I am an inside cat that lives in southern California and I was born in February 1991, which makes me 16 young years old. I was born in my mommy's closet and when my mommy saw how beautiful I was, she had to keep me.Thursday, October 18, 2007
New Members - Kellie
KELLIE - Kellie the Orange Cat
My name is Kellie and my Mum and I adopted each other in December of 2001. I was six months old when I came to live with my Mum and we loved each other right away. I follow my Mum all around the house, if she moves and I can't see her I have to re-position myself so that she is within my eyesight.
Sometimes, I can be a little devilish, but I blame all that on my evil alter ego Hellie. Hellie can sometimes do bad things like scratching the furniture, knocking over glasses to drink what is inside - you know the usual bad kitty stuff. I would never do such things - it is always Hellie who does it.My favourite thing in the world is to nap with my Mum, my second favourite thing is to chase fuzzy mice. My Mum says our house is infested with coloured fuzzy mice. She keeps buying them and somehow they disappear. I told her they have run off, but she doesn't believe me.

Meet some of our newest members: Mindy, a charming Canadian lady; Lailia, a young girl from Chicago; the fabulous Taylor Cats from Maryland and two handsome brothers, Henry & Clyde from Ohio.
MINDY - Team Tabby
Hello, my name is Mindy and I am a bi-color white and gray tabby girl. I was born about June in 2001. I am an indoor kitty and I live in Nova Scotia, Canada and Mom’s sister found me and my three brothers living in a woodpile when we were 3 months old. Our catmom had been killed by a car and we were all very hungry and scared. I was the smallest and the most timid kitten, but my big ginger brother, Moe, and I found a forever home where we could be together. My other two brothers found wonderful homes as well.Mom is my special person and she is the only one I trust to give me belly rubs, which I love. I have a soft voice, but a loud purr. On my terms, I love to get in mom’s lap for ear scratches. Sometimes I lick Mom, too. I am scared of people, but am sooooo… curious that I almost always come out of hiding to see who is around. Once I’m seen, people practically do headstands trying to pet me, but I know how to be charming and get treats without letting them even touch me. My brother and I get along, but we are not exactly buddies. When he chases me, I run behind the refrigerator where he can’t follow me. Ha ha.
I have a bed, made up especially for me, in the attic by the window where I can nap undisturbed for as long as I like. Moe doesn’t bother me there ‘cause he prefers to be near the kitchen – where the food is. My brother and I spend our days watching out the windows for other cats (Angel in particular), squirrels, birds, deer and sometimes occasional raccoons. Come and visit us at our blog.
LAILA - Cat-a-holic
I'm a 4 1/2 month old kitten born about April 27, 2007. Mom adopted me from The Buddy Foundation here in the Chicago area. When people ask her what color I am, she says I couldn't decide if I wanted to be a gray kitty or a white kitty, so I compromised. The top part of me is gray and the bottom part is white. I'm very soft and it's very hard for my Mommy to hold onto me because my furs are so slippery.I have a much older sister named Lilly, who is 16 but she just doesn't appreciate or remember what it's like to be a kitten. She doesn't play with me and all she wants to do is hiss and slap me a lot. Geesh!
I love to be held, combed and carried around. I have lots of toys and beds and cat trees and condos, so I have it pretty good here.
Here are 5 siblings that live in Maryland. Meet the Taylor CatSSSSS!
We live with our Mommy (Deb), two sisters (Tatum & Sloane) and "The Big Guy". We control our home and everyone in it!
SUMMER THYME

I am a calico and weigh 10 pounds. I got my name from the fact that I was found in the summer time. Mommy just changed the spelling of "time" a little bit.
SASQUATCH "SASSY" BELLE

My name has a strange story. My human sister was calling me “white spot on ear” because I had one. The big guy (aka Daddy) thought I needed an Indian name and so he called me Sasquatch. Mommy likes to call me Sassy. Belle was given to me by Tatum because she thinks I’m beautiful!
SADIE "SPATS"

I am a tortie and weigh 14 ½ pounds. My name comes from the fact that I have four white feet and The Big Guy (Daddy) thought they looked like Spats (old fashioned shoes). Mommy liked the name Sadie, but Spats stuck.
SAM SUN
I was born in Houston, Texas. My forever Mommy found me at a place called Citizens for Animal Protection. I had only been there for about 45 minutes when Mommy walked in and fell in love with me. I am a boy and a flame point rag doll and I weigh about 17 pounds.I got my name from the fact that Seaborne was already in residence and my family LOVED the television show West Wing. There was a character on the show, played by Rob Lowe, who was named Sam Seaborne.
SEABORNE RUSKIN

I currently weigh about 21 pounds…all muscle! I got my name from the fact that I was born by the sea and Ruskin is a street in Seaside. I lived in Houston, Texas until a year ago when we all moved to Rockville, Maryland. We LOVE it here!
HENRY - King of Downing Street
I am kinda a small Mancat and I have no claws. My Lady let the vet rip them out of my body. I have a red and orange and white brother named Clyde. He is a year older than me and it is really nice to have him around.
CLYDE - King of Downing Street
I didn't always live with My Lady and Henry. My first bean was a meanie and she left me when she moved. I've only been here about three months and I heart my new family! Thanks for letting us be part of the group!

MAGGIE - Zoolatry
I was born November 27, 2003 and am 3 1/2 years old. I'm a torti-point Himalayan and yes, my coat is many colors: black and white, and gray and tan and brown and even little bits of gold on my ears and my toes! And on my forehead a little white "star spot".
I live in sunny Florida with my humans, Mom, Poppy and Great Grandma and my little sister, Zoey who arrived about a year ago. She's a blue point Himmie and she's a silly little thing. We tolerate each other, and sometimes we play -- NOT! Mom says I'm the queen and she is the court jester! We have two blogs out there and we get playful and silly on Zoolatry. In our other page, Portraits of Himalyans, Mom puts up our "pretty" pictures. You can visit us there anytime.SNOWY- Katnippia
Hi my name is Snowy and I'm happy to meet everyone. Most of you probably already know me and the four other cats I live with.
I'm a solid white kitty with golden colored eyes. I'm 5 years old, and I luvs to sleep on our porchie and eat Temptayshun treats.
I also like to watch lizards and play with my toys!

New Members - Powder & Puff
PUFF - Perfectly Parker
Puff is an eight year old beauty with a birthday that falls on April fool’s day! She is the Matriarch of her family and her one and only job is to look gorgeous 24-7. She does her job very well! Puff’s idea of heaven is napping in sunny spots and receiving love from her Mommy and Daddy. She is low maintenance – just give the love and she is happy! She is not food motivated, she is love motivated. Puff was rescued by her Mommy and Daddy from a barn full of cats. She came from a rural area in
Powder is an eight year old sweetheart with a birthday that falls on April fool’s day! She is the sister of Puff “the love machine” and is a little on the shy side…unless you are Mommy (and can prove it!). Powder was also rescued from the same awful barn as her sister Puff. She is a very petite cat who is seven pounds on a good day. She eats like a linebacker though. Powder is food motivated and a heat seeking missile. If there is sun and heat, Powder is there. She is a very vocal kitty and her Mommy and Daddy think that somewhere in her background there was a Siamese fooling around the barn. Her job in a family of four cats is to keep Mommy’s heart in her paws. She is a “one person” kitty, but is tolerant of other cats and humans. Her idea of a great time is napping on Mommy and grabbing all of the treats that she can in a twenty-four hour period. Her fur is so silky that if you pet her your hand slides off of her fur. She is an expert groomer. Powder wishes that Mommy didn’t have to leave her house to go hunting. Ever!

FELISSA - Its A Cat's Life
Hi, my name is Felissa. I'm a 7 year old pale calico who's a little kooky and lovin' life! I lived for about six months on the street with two kittens to feed until the vet found me. Then I ended up with my current humans and a really annoying roommate named Poki.

My best friend is an 8 year old feral cat named Shadowvice, whom I call Shadow. He's been really stressed out lately since the death of his buddy Macaw whose funeral was not too long ago. I haven't seen or talked to Shadow since then. He's probably internalizing all his pain. Just like a Tomcat!I enjoy sleeping, sleeping more, cantaloupe, batting at Poki, going for adventures with Shadow, the outdoors and just about everything else!

DAISY - Daisy the Curlycat
My name is Daisy. I am a dilute calico Devon Rex cat. I have very soft curly fur, and I even have curly whiskers. I also have big frootbat ears. I enjoy playing with any kind of toy, but I especially like playing with lizards (until my Mommie catches me and puts the lizard back outside). Since my fur is a little sparse, I like to be warm so I seek out places like a sunny spot, on top of the computer, inside the stereo cabinet, or under the covers. My most fun hobby is climbing things, and I have been known to jump on top of the stair banister and tip-toe along the railing. I have a big sister named Pixie who is also a Devon Rex; Pixie has cardiomyopathy, so she doesn’t like to play with me. I also love running water, so I drink out of my own water fountain, or from the bathroom faucet.
New Members, Dazey & Jesse
DAZEY - Cyclone Cats

My name is Dazey May and I will be 6 years old on March 13, 2007! I have lived with my Mom since I was old enough to leave my momma kitty. Now we live in a big house that has a lot of windows to sleep in! I especially like going out in the backyard on my leash. I also love boxes! My favorite color is orange.
My favorite foods are bread, tuna, sandwich meat and crunchies. Mom says that must be why I weigh 16 pounds (almost as much as our 2-legged kitten).
My mom's favorite flowers are daisies, so that is where I got my name. Except she wanted me to be unique and spelled it differently: Dazey.
JESSE - Cyclone Cats
My name is Jesse. Me and Dazey are sisters so I am almost 6 as well. I like to lay up on the computer monitor, in an open window, in my Mom's bed or in her lap. I don't like most people so you could say I'm shy. I like to go outside in the backyard on my leash when it's nice outside and I love to nap in the sun. My favorite color is purple.Wednesday, December 06, 2006
New Member, Fazakerly
FAZAKERLY - Faz the Cat
My full name is Fazakerly and I am 2 1/2 years old.My humans got me when I was six months because my original human got very ill and had to go into hospital (they thought she was going to die). Fortunately she got better but I decided to stay with my new humans anyway as they had just lost two cats (who were both over 16 years old). They were very sad about that so I helped cheer them up.
The vet told them that Tortise Shell cats like me are usually a bit mad, so I have been doing my best to live up to that image. I don't like being picked up or cuddled. I do love snuggling up on nice warm laps BUT only when I choose. I only like dry nibbles or tuna to eat. I am very fussy. I am also a champion mouser so it's a good thing I live near Wimbledon Common where there are tons of luscious little mice.

Birthday: February 1
Since I was, oh, say 9 or 10 years old, my family has had a favorite Chinese restaurant, "Magic Dragon" where we eat quite often. One afternoon in August 2003, my daughter and I were eating lunch there and spotted a lone Siamese kitten about 6 months old wandering in the parking lot. I talked to the restaurant owners and they told us he had been coming around for a month or so, but no one could catch him. We boxed up our leftovers in hopes of coaxing him to us, but when we approached him he, of course, ran off. Little did he know, he became our project!
Every time we ate dinner there, we would request a window seat and, sure enough, after a while he would appear from the nearby bushes. It got to the point that we kept a bag of cat food in my trunk and would feed him every time we made a trip to town. Sometimes we'd see him sleeping in the bushes, all curled up in the rain. It was so sad!
Months passed and the weather was turning colder. I knew we just had to get him soon. So, one night with a borrowed trap in the back seat, we set off to eat dinner at Magic Dragon once again. We set the trap with tuna and went inside to eat at our usual window table. By this time the restaurant owners were all excited about someone finally catching him, too. Well, I guess it was the tuna because it took him all of about 15 minutes and we had him!!!
We fondly named him Magic. He lives on our screened porch, since he still never wants to stay inside very long. Although a nervous cat, he will now get on my lap, rubs around my legs and LOVES to be petted. He gets to run in the yard most every day (supervised) and has adjusted to domesticated life quite well.
TWINKIE

Dwells: Indoors
Birthday: July 27
We went into a pet store (if that's what you want to call it...filthy, nasty place needs to be put out of business) just to look around while we were waiting to meet someone at a nearby store, and there she was. Behind the back glass wall with all the other pets, all over-crowded in small, dirty cages. You could see every bone in her tiny little body (the dry food they had out for her was in big enough pieces for an extra large dog). She obviously had not been eating. We just couldn't leave her there. So for $20.00 we bought her from that horrid place, brought her home and have been in love ever since!

Birthday: June 17
I found her shortly after my father passed away several years ago. She was a feral cat and was found in an old shed/barn in the middle of over 1,000 acres (surrounded on 4 sides by water) in Gadsden, AL. A friend of the family owned this acreage and nothing was there but his horses which ran free on the property. No one knows how she got there. She was skin & bones, sick and unapproachable which is why the way she acted soon afterwards is so astonishing.
As we all know, cats do not come when called, for the most part, much less a feral cat, but she did. I called her from the back seat of our SUV (food in hand) and she flew into the vehicle! She didn't go nuts as we expected, but the exact opposite. On the 3 hour trip home, she got into my arms and laid down. Mind you, she was a wild cat. A song came on the radio reminding me of my father and I got really upset and started crying. This feral cat put her paw on my face the entire time as I cried, almost as if to say "It's OK, I'm here". My husband's mouth fell open. After treatment at our vet for many different things, Sweetie came home. I don't believe in reincarnation, but I do believe Sweetie was sent to me from above by God, my Dad, or maybe some of both. How else do you explain the things she did/does?
I can't even describe everything that makes her different. Here's just a few: She would only let me, my daughter and my brother (who only visited us a couple of times a month) hold her. She kisses me at night next to my eye just as my father used to at night when he would tuck us into bed. Sweetie also has a mole over her eye (just as my Dad had). How many cats do you know that have a mole? One of my Dad's favorite food was Key Lime Pie. Well, would you believe Sweetie loves key lime pie center out of Godiva truffles? My father used to call me his little sweetie, so as you can imagine, it didn't take me long to decide on the perfect name for her.
The bond I have with Sweetie is like no other bond I've ever had with any animal. I can't explain it...she's different. She helped me through a very difficult time in my life. Losing my father was very painful, but she was there then and still today is my constant companion. I truly believe she was sent to me and she is my angel.
LEXINGTON

CHLOE - Purrchance to Dream
Hello, my name is Chloe. Last winter, my Mommy Mari was a stray cat who was taken in by a kind lady named Kathleem. Mommy Mari had six kittens! We were born on March 7, so I'm a Pisces. There were five girls: Shanti, Makara (we call her Macaroni), Charlie Girl, Daphne and me -- Chloe! And we have one brother, Sir Galahad. He's the only one of us who is an orange tabby. I am the only calico and the other girls are grey tabbies.
Kathleen's friend Morgen and Lee adopted me and Daphne when we were eight weeks old, but they had been to visit us at least once a week since we were born. Lee and Not The Mama (that's what we call Morgen) live in a big house and we have lots and lots of room to run and play in. Even though my name is Chloe, sometimes Not The Mama calls me his "Calico Rose". They have given us the best Forever Home. Then there's Auntie Spooker. She is an old grey cat, who used to be Lee and Not The Mama's only child. She's not a happy kitty since we came along and she still hisses at me. I try not to let it bother me, but sometimes she does hurt my feelings. Daphne is much bigger than me and she doesn't take any guff from old Auntie Spooker any more!
Sometimes Not The Mama worries about me, 'cause Daphne is the same age as me but almost twice as big. I am a sweet, petite little lady, he says, but he still worries that Daphne can be a bully sometimes. I am very lucky to have Daphne with me in my Forever Home, because she looks out for me, plays with me, snuggle-naps with me and even washes my ears for me!
Some of my favorite things to do are to chew on cardboard boxes and slippers (Not The Mama says I must've been a puppy in a former life) and to play with rattle-mice. Every morning, Not The Mama plays with me while he gets dressed for work. He has big black shoestring tied to a knob on his dresser and he has to keep it tied up, or I'd run off with it and hide it. Well, duh! I also love to be held, and Daphne says that sometimes I'm too much of a "lap kitty" and that I should be more independent. Whatever.
I love it when Not The Mama holds me and loves on me and sometimes I just want to sleep on his lap for hours. In the evening I sit up on the windowsill over the kitchen sink and watch for Not The Mama to come home. I run up and greet him when he comes in the door, and he really likes that. Daphne and Auntie Spooker can't be bothered to get up from their naps, so I help Not The Mama track them down and say "hello".
If you have any questions about me or Daphne (or even Auntie Spooker) visit our blog at Purrchance to Dream. Daphne does most of the talking there, but it's my blog, too!

BEAU - Beau's Blog
My name is Beau (short for Beauregard). I am half black and half white. I have a cute black dot on my nose and a big black dot on my tummy. I was born in November 1999, and I live in Tennessee. I went to live with Mom when I was only 6-8 weeks old. She kept hearing me cry outside and took me in when she finally saw me. She was afraid the mean kids in the area would not treat me well. Before that I lived with her upstairs neighbor for a short period, but he was careless about my care and I kept getting out, so Mom convinced him to let me live with her. We've been together ever since and I'm so happy to be in a loving, caring home. I like hanging out on my climbing tower, watching birds and squirrels, squishy balls, feathers, eating plastic (a very bad habit), playing and snuggling with Mom.Thursday, August 24, 2006
New Members, Kimo & Sabi
KIMO & SABI - Cat Banter
We were born on July 4, 2004 but are not from the same litter. We met each other the same week at a northern California animal shelter and quickly became close - like brothers. Kimo is a laid-back Sealpoint Siamese and Sabi is a domestic shorthair who's a little ADHD!
We were adopted on Sept. 14, 2004 (our Gotcha Day) and we feel special because our Mommakitty is adopted too! Daddykitty is the one who named us - he says Kimosabi often means "trusted friend" (remember The Lone Ranger?).Mommakitty and Daddykitty play with us when we need the exercise, set limits when we need to understand the rules (well, we pretend to anyway), and even nap with us! Mommakitty says napping is a legitimate hobby. They provide a safe home for us with plenty of room to goof around, feed us healthy food and encourage us to learn new things like playing scrabble (sometimes we even win!). Sabi likes to help Mommakitty with her knitting and Kimo likes to hang out with Daddykitty in his office (that's how we learned so much about computers). We're both indoor cats 'cause we live near the country where there are lots of scary critters outside that could harm us. We pretty much have free run of our house though, and we've even learned how to open some interior doors. (Shhh, don't tell on us!)
We look forward to meeting everyone and making new friends.

YUKI - Kazoku Neko
She was born in a pile of wood that was going to be used to repair the roof where I was employed. I tried to catch her momma and 2 siblings but couldn’t. The only one that would go into the trap was Yuki. She went home with me and stayed. She is 100% white with odd eyes (1 blue & 1 green). Her name is Japanese for snow. She loves to stretch out on sunny window sills and sleep. Her favorite treat is boiled shrimp or baked chicken. Of course it must be in small bite size pieces. She is also a nip addict.
KIMIKO - Kazoku Neko

I had to go dumpster diving to rescue Kimiko and her siblings. She was the friendliest of all the kittens and I ended up keeping her.
Kimiko is my constant companion and normally she is in whatever room I am in. While Yuki rarely speaks, Kimiko loves to discuss things. She is more than happy to speak about how hungry her tummy is or how she is in need of being held and swayed like a baby. I can rub her tummy and she will sound like a jet plane taking off. But I can never touch her feet. Those little feet will kick my hand and I will receive a little nip on the hand to let me know that it's off limits.

Indeed, my coat has many colors. If you look, I am bright red-orange-and-white striped in a lot of places. I also have some black patches, some beige patches and some areas with “sheer” black over another color.

EMMA - A Blog for Emma
My name is Emma. I was born outside and got a bad "boo boo" in my eye when I was just little. It really hurt alot! Luckily someone rescued us and I got medicine for my eye and it felt much better. I can't see out of my "boo boo" eye, but it doesn't bother me!
Then I went to live and be fostered by my human mom. I really missed my real mommie and siblings, but I had so much fun and was loved so much by my human mommie that I wanted to stay with her. I went up to PetsMart for a little bit and then my mom came back and got me and took me home to stay!! Thank goodness!!Now I live with Marley, my adopted brother Benji, a big furry stinky woofie named Sammie and my human boys and parents. Sammie the woofie wants to be like me and I love her for that! Anyway, I love my mommie and playing fetch with paper balls! I go crazy when I hear the sound of paper crinkling! I am very smart and love to meet new friends, human and furry! I have a bloggie of my own where you can see my family!

MISTY - Crews' Views
Hi everyone. Most of you have already met me on Crews' Views page.I was adopted from a local shelter because my sister Tipper (and Mom!) wanted a kitten. Mom picked me 'cause I look like my sister Tipper and I purred the second she touched me...so she decided to name me Misty Everpurr. I think my name is perfect.
I got very sick a few days after I came home and had to take nasty medicine. My brothers George & Max and sister Tipper had to take pills too, so they wouldn't get sick. But after a few weeks, I started to feel much better and now I'm growing fast!
I like to run, jump and play. I don't have a favorite toy yet...I like to play with everything. I don't have a favorite food yet, either...I try to eat everything!

PATCHES - Went to the Rainbow Bridge March 23, 2007
The three of us had a great time together for eight years but then one day the people came home from the human’s vet with a tiny little person. (She was actually the second little person; the first one had been there for a couple of years and he was mostly okay.) This second little person started wheezing as soon as they brought her into the house and sounded very bad when I went near her. My people took her back where she came from a couple of times the first week she was home. But it turned out she and I could not live together because she had an allergy to me.
Much to my dismay, and despite my years of seniority, they decided to keep the little person and not me! The only people who would take me, since I had a strong personality that most people mistook for a bad attitude, were a couple who were friends of my people and who had known me since I was less than a year old. Even though it was a huge upheaval I settled into my new home in less than a week and these people have been my family for the past ten years.
They have been very good years and I moved with them from their apartment to our first house in
Because I’m old I have some of the problems my vet says are expected in a senior cat. I don’t have all my teeth, my legs feels stiff after I nap, I’ve lost a lot of weight and I sometimes get a bit confused or forgetful about where my litterbox is. My latest problem is with my kidneys and my vet says they don’t work very well any more because of my age. But I get lots of love and attention from my people (and the extra water and wet food I want) and I like to play almost every day. I’m still okay and just take every day as it comes.

GRACIE - Manx Mnews
She came to us by way of an angel. We had a tortie girl named Button who was a stray that followed me home. She was very shy of people and especially of other cats and refused to become an indoor cat. So she came to live in my husbands workshop outside. One Saturday morning last July we let her out just like normal. When I came in later than afternoon she was no where to be found, which was really odd because her terrority was simply our yard. When she wasn't home before dark I knew something was wrong. When she didn't come back the next day I knew in my heart she was gone, but we did everything to find her.We went to the ACC as our last resort, and sitting outside their front door was this beautiful, 5 or 6 month old kitten. She had such a personality and tried to engage each person as they came to the door as if she was pleading her case for a furever home. We inquired about her at the front desk and they informed us that she had been dropped off about a week earlier (and they hadn't taken her in!) and the receptionist asked "Well do you want her" and laughed. We explained that we were there looking for our lost Button. After we went through the facility, which was extremely heartbreaking, we were faced with walking past this little girl again. I was in tears because of all I had just seen, and of course, not finding Button. My husband looked at the little grey tabby and asked "Do you want to take her home?". Well of course I did.
So we scooped her up, not wanting her to end up like all those other beautiful cats in their facilitiy. We named her Gracie and think she is extremely lucky.... but then so are we.

I am not fat, as my name implies, but I am quite fluffy and perhaps just a tiny bit too opinionated.

Storm & Mocha are sisters from Michigan. Shadow & KoKo are a sister and brother from Hawaii. Please go to their pages and say hello.
STORM & MOCHA - Storm & Mocha Speak Up

We are sisters that were adopted together when we were six months old. We don't always get along as well as it shows in this picture, but we're glad we have each other.
Mocha is a calico and Storm is a grey tortoiseshell.
Thank you for inviting us!
SHADOW & KOKO - Poi Rats, Cats & Bun
I am Shadow, a 7 year old grey & white, part Siamese cat. Kinsey kitten adopted me at the Hawaiian Humane Society on O'ahu. I had a family before, but they turned me in because the daughter had allergies. Kinsey was just a little girl, only two years old, and we hit it off right away since I was little too, only 6 months old. I was playing with a green branch with leaves on it and Kinsey thought that was so cute. There were several other families looking at me in our cat house room, and Mom sent Dad up to the desk to get the papers for adoption before someone else took me. There was a special cat house where I lived with screened rooms and walls with shelves and cubby holes. All the cats had towels and toys and one room had individual cages where the poodies who had surgery stayed until they were healed.
After I was adopted Mom found out that I have partial hearing loss and some strange growths in my ears. The vet said both ears have this and it's not cancerous -- just part of me.
I'm glad Kinsey kitten picked me and I picked her. I am very flighty and I really only like her. I love to sleep on her bed and every night I kill my toy shark and carry it in for her to share with me. I like Mom too, but I am a one person cat and Kinsey has my loyalties and love. Even though I'm small at 13 lb., I'm a fierce fighter and it's my job to keep the boys in line. I wrestle Merlin and KoKo to the ground and chase them off when they are doing something that earns my disapproval. One smack , or even a look, from me and KoKo runs. I have to keep myself in top fighting form to protect my Kinsey kitten.
I am Kao' ko Kung and I'm a Tunkinese kitty. This year I am the big 2 and Mom says I have recently started growing into my ears and legs. My Mom picked me at the Hawaiian Humane Society when I was 7 months old. I was sitting in one of the cages after my surgery and I was scared and shaking. When she adopted me, Mom was told I was a purebred Tunkinese and she can't figure out why anyone would want to get rid of me because I'm such a good boy!I'm very mellow, although my voice can be quite strident and is very loud. I like to talk to my people and constantly mutter to myself when I'm investigating something. Climbing is natural to me and I often get as close to the ceiling as I can. Mom's lap is my preferred place to sleep and whenever she sits down, I jump up and make myself cozy. However, Kinsey kitten is allowed to cart me all over since we play together a lot. She likes to make me dance and do stuff, but I don't mind at all and follow her around when she puts me down. Mom is amazed and says I'm very patient.
The only problem I have is Shadow. She doesn't like me and guards Kinsey kitten jealously. Every time my back is turned, I get attacked. It has made me wary of being around Shadow and as soon as she comes into the room, I lay down submissively. I love to wrestle with my big brother Merlin, though. He's the best! We take turns winning, so one day I'm the champ and the next day, he is. We have so much fun. I try to snuggle with him too, but that's where he usually draws the line so I have to snuggle with Kinsey and Mom.
I love surprises and investigating everything. Mom says someday she's going to videotape me talking to myself.

Red Tabby Coolness
My Mother and I have been doing lots of reading on how us cats with many colored coats got this way. It is REALLY interesting. Its all in our genes. No, not the jeans that our humans wear but genes. These genes are in all our cells and make us who we are. Here is an interesting tidbit that the Mother and I found.
Did you know that you kitties with red, amber or cream are really red tabbies? No kidding! Really, you are!
Apparently, the gene that causes kitties to be solid colors instead of tabbies doesn’t affect the color red. All you kitties with red have faint tabby markings too.
So Derby, Puss, Daisy, Kiara, Mittens, Patches and Angie look at your red colors and see if you can find stripes! Scrappy has cream but since she is a brindle pattern tortoiseshell, so she has too few cream furs in a group to make a tabby pattern. But still the rules in her genes apply to her too!
Cool, eh!?
So... I have always wondered whether I was a white cat with black spots or a black cat with white spots. Have you wondered abour your colors too?

ARIEL - Sweet Ariel
I'm Ariel and I'm 4 years old. My mom got me when I was 8 weeks old and I was so small I could fit in her pocket. I was sick then and wasn't very strong, but now I'm a tough and healthy kitty.I love to watch and scare the birds who dare to land on my window sill. I love to cuddle with mom, yet I hate to share her and will bite anyone who dares to try.
Some people say my mom spoils me. I say they're just jealous!

New Members, Beau Beau & Angie
Say hello to the brother and sister team of Beau Beau and Angie from Connecticut.
BEAU BEAU - Beau & Angelica's Fur Days
I am the young king of the household. I was a teenager when Mom & Dad brought me home. I took over right away and let my parents know who is running things around the house now. I tell them too with my mmrrreeeoow voice as I take care of things.
Well, since I was doing so much running, they thought I needed a friend to keep me busy. That's how we got Angelica.
ANGELICA - Beau & Angelica's Fur Days
Hi. I'm Angelica but my Mommy nicknamed me Angie. She brought me into our house to teach Beau Beau some manners. He thinks he's king of the house but we know who's really running things. Sometimes we play, sometimes we don't.My main job is to look as pretty as I can and then Mommy takes lots of pictures of me.
We think that I am a Calico with some Ragdoll mixed in 'cause I can go as limp as a rag. Whatever mix I am, my parents love me 'cause I am so sweet and give them quiet little purrs.

GEORGE (Founder) - Crews' Views
I am a 9 year old Harlequin cat, mostly white with grey on my head, back and racoon striped tail. I was adopted from a local shelter and have always lived a quiet life in Wisconsin in the same house with my Mom & Dad, my sister Tipper and brother Max, who are tuxedo cats. In about a year I plan to retire, but until then I'll continue to run my house with an iron paw. Nothing happens here without my supervision and approval.I have a very special closeness with my Dad and enjoy holdings with him. In my spare time I like bird watching, catnip and napping. My favorite treat is tuna water.
PATCHES LADY - The Calico Girls
I was dropped off in my meowmies driveway by some human on a cold dreary October afternoon in 1999. I was hungry, tired and afraid. But then Meowmie came out the door and scooped me up and invited me inside. I was 2 years old at the time and already spayed. I am an indoor kitty now, and the boss lady. I live with Mittens and Mistrie (who is our outside, feral girl) in a log cabin in the Big Piney Woods.MITTENS POLLYPAWS - The Calico Girls
My Meowmie was doing volunteer work at our local animal shelter in Sept. 2000 when I was brought in. I was so timid and afraid that I hid under my bedding all theh time and growled at everyone, but when Meowmie picked me up, I purred my way into her heart. I was 7 at the time of my adoption, also already spayed. I have extra toes, t hus my name. I am also an indoor kitty. I live with Patches and Mistrie (who is our outside, feral girl) in a log cabin in the Big Piney Woods.BADNESS - Furry Logic
I was found under a free kitten sign at a local grocery store - a little, precious ball of black and white fur. Just like a poof! Unfortunately, I had been taken away from my mama too early and was only 5 weeks old. I didn't even know how to eat
solid food yet!!! But I learned quickly. Don't tell anyone, but I used to suck my thumb at night. My big sister, Honey, didn't know what hit her because I took over from the first day I came home. There was no question as to who was the boss. How did I get the name Badness? From being one bad kitty, of course. Everything from climbing up the back of the computer, attacking my mamas hand while mousing, destroying the blinds to dragging delicate silk sweaters into the litter box. You name it, I’ve done it.
Even though I’m an opinionated kitty, I’m also a warm, affectionate soul who loves my mother and sister, Scrappy. I love to sit on mamas lap and have my head rubbed for hours at a time.
My favorite things are catnip, kitty grass, Pinnacle Stinky Goodness, getting drinks from the faucet, watching birds out the window and playing with water bottle caps. My least favorite things are Daisy the dog, not having stinky goodness on demand and my mother leaving on vacations. Suitcases make me hide under the bed because I know my mama is leaving.
SCRAPPY - Furry Logic
I was born under my grandma and grandpa's home and am 6 years old. My cat mother had been abandoned by her people just before I
was born. I had 3 siblings. My two-legged mama took us to her job to help us find forever homes but I was the only one who didn't so my mama took me home with her. She was going to give me up for adoption but within a couple of days mama and Badness fell in love with me and I had my own forever home.I am feisty and there isn't a thing that I am afraid off. I will even take on doggies if I have too. Don't mess with me if you are a dog - or an irritating little brother!
I love to play all day and all night. Mama will throw my furry mice and I will fetch them for hours. Mama says I fetch better than the dog. Well of course, cats can do anything better than a dog!
Most of all, I love my mama!! I always greet her at the door when she comes home to let her know how much I missed her! Oh! And I love my brother and my sister, too. My sister, Badness mostly and Tucker not so much.
I'm a sassy, buff and white boy cat. Born Oct 2003 and re-adopted on the first Saturday of May 2005 - Derby Day, which is how I got my name.
I live a wonderful suburban life with my mumm in a house with lots of windows. That way I can watch the world outside, birdies, squirrels and such.
I love napping, snuggling, tuna and my mum.
TIPPER - Crews' Views

I am a 3 year old bi-color, grey and white female who wears a tuxedo dress. I was adopted from a local shelter and have always lived in the same house with my two brothers, George and Max, who I help take care of. I am the second lady of the house and am Moms helper.
My personality is very gentle and sweet and my favorite toy is my red and white octopus. I don't have a favorite food - I like everything!
MAX - Crews' Views

I am a 2 year old black and white tuxedo cat and am very independent. I don't like to be picked up or held and will only allow myself to be petted for a short while, but I do like my Mom and follow her around a lot. I live in a nice house in Wisconsin with a big yard and lots of birdies to watch.
My favorite things are playing in the sink and mousing, which I do very well. Up until now I have been in Kittyness training, under my brother George's supervision, but when he retires, I'll be in charge of things.
MEEKO - Lone Star Purrs
I'm a snuggler (and a shy girl) that looooves my momma. When she 'dopted me, I was just a tiny little thing.Only 1.8 lb. when she took me to the v.e.t. (She had worms when I got her - mama). But with much TLC, I'm a big girl now. But I won't say how big. I live in CO where my daddy is going to school I love to watch birds and nap in sunspots.
KIARA - Lone Star Purrs
I'm a tortie that likes to talk. When I was about 6 months old, my momma took me home from he pet store (she was ther with an adoption agency-mom). I try to get along with my sister...but, she won't have any of it.I love to get drinks out of the faucet. I don't care who's in there, they need to give me a drink! I'm also in charge of keeping an eye on the squirrels out back.
PUSS - Puss A LapigusMy name is Puss...Well actually I don't remember my very first
name. My mom found me at the pound when I was a little kitten.
My tail was broken and I was in the bottom cage. She wanted an
adult boy cat but I just kept pawing and pawing at her thru the
cage and she finally gave in. They have no idea WE pick them! :)
Anyway, she named me Kaila, after a goddess. Then they started
calling me Boo-Boo and now I am referred to as Puss,
Puss-ah-lap-ah-gus, and Pussifica.
In the last few months I decided to leave the tabby dogma of no
laps andaloofness for a more intimate relationship with my humans and as long as the other
cats (Midnight & Buddy) aren't in the room watching. I find it quite fulfilling.
I look forward to getting to know all of you too!
DAISY - Please le us know when your blog is ready!
My name is Daisy and I'm a Calico cat. I don’t have a blog yet, but am anxious to get one ‘cause I have a lot to say!
